1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Filed.dev ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Filed.dev provides access to public business entity records through a website and API. Data is sourced from public state and federal registries.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
  • Redistribute bulk data obtained through the API without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to scrape the website (use the API instead)

4. API Usage and Rate Limits

API access is subject to rate limits based on your subscription plan. Exceeding rate limits may result in temporary throttling or suspension. We reserve the right to modify rate limits with reasonable notice.

5. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

Data provided through Filed.dev is sourced from public records maintained by state and federal agencies. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty regarding the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the data. Public records may contain errors, delays, or omissions from the source agencies. The Service should not be used as a sole basis for legal, financial, or business decisions.

6. Accounts and API Keys

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys. You must not share API keys or allow unauthorized access to your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

7. Payment Terms

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payments are processed through Stripe. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason with notice. You may cancel your account at any time. Upon termination, your API keys will be revoked.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Filed.dev and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
